Assad Renews Syria΄s Support of Resistance to Achieve Peace

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad renewed on Tuesday Syria's support of the resistance for the achievement of just and comprehensive peace that comes within the framework of Syria's adherence to the national and Pan-Arab method and commitment to the national Arab rights and confrontation of all attempts to relinquish them.

Presiding over meeting of the Central Leadership of National Progressive National Front, Assad reviewed the latest political developments, particularly those relating to the raised issues on the Arab arena and the reality of the joint Arab action.

The Syrian President was quoted by the Syrian News Arab Agency (SANA) as pointing to the importance of the positive results achieved by the Arab Summit held in Doha, which were reflected in the agreement of the Arab countries on resolutions serving the interests of the Arab nation and its legitimate rights.

He stressed the need to take advantage of the Arab detente for the foundation of active methodology regarding the joint Arab action and of the international detent for expanding the dialogue with the world states in a way that serves interests of Syria and the Arab nation.

He said that we must strengthen the elements of our steadfastness through strengthening the domestic front, especially in light of te financial crisis which affected the world as a whole.
