The Egyptian aggressive campaign against Hizbullah is still triggering furious reactions, even from inside Egypt...
On Monday, the head of the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo Mohamad Mahdi Akef expressed support for Hizbullah against the campaign, which he described as "merely clowning," confirming that Cairo's accusations against the Resistance movement were utterly baseless and unfounded. Akef said that Cairo cannot indict Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on such accusations, as it has no evidence to support its claims.
The Egyptian opposition's official said there were two agendas in the region: one that works to safeguard the Resistance and support it to achieve victory against the Zionist entity from one side, and one that only seeks to satisfy the Americans and Zionists from another.
Akef called on everyone to support the Resistance through all possible ways, stressing that betting on the Arab governments was useless. "The Arab nations are the source of hope, they should remain attentive and accomplish their duties towards their brothers in Palestine and support them as possible to lift the siege and end the suffering.
Akef commented on the claims that passing aids to Palestine through Egypt was a violation of the country's sovereignty. "They can say whatever they want," Akef said. "However, what's actually required is that we come all together for the interest of the Palestinian cause and stand against the Zionist tyranny," he concluded.
Earlier, Egyptian Al Karama party ruled out the accusations against Hizbullah and confirmed that the resistance party's behavior excludes it completely from such claims and puts it in a good position among the Egyptian people.
Deputy Chief of the Karama party Amin Iskandar said that the real dispute is between what is called "Arab moderate front" and the resistance front. Iskandar also pointed out that the real threat for the Egyptian national security was not Hizbullah however "Israel" and the US interference in the country's matters.
