Khazen said after the meeting: "I had the honor of meeting His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem; we deliberated current issues in an atmosphere of keenness to strengthen and intensify efforts to enable internal unity in Lebanon. We touched on the government formation topic, His Eminence showing interest in the government formation taking the direction of a national unity government within which everyone is a partner in decision-making. Anything short of that would have many obstacles, especially that there is an 'Israeli' enemy lying in wait. Hence, we must close ranks and be coherent."

"I praised Hizbullah's efforts in the parliamentary elections and the civilized manner in which Hizbullah dealt with the election. The Christian-Shiite relations were also specifically addressed, His Eminence commending the improvement of these relations for the positive impact this has on the Lebanese arena.
