Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad met Thursday with a visiting delegation of British senators headed by counterpart Andrew Love, as part of contacts between the Lebanese resistance group and British officials.

"The talks covered the situation in Lebanon and the region in addition to ongoing efforts to form a government of national unity," said a brief statement issued by both sides after the meeting.

Both sides agreed to "continue dialogue on issues of common interest," it added.

Last week, Raad held two-hour talks with British Ambassador to Lebanon Mary Frances Guy to pave the way for Thursday's meeting.

In March, Britain reopened contacts with Hezbollah's political wing after it joined the national unity government last year.
