After the meeting, Sheikh Ammar said: "Here we stand among our dear people of the proud Mountain to confirm that the principles uniting us are stronger than all. This Mountain, which was and still is the resistance mountain witnessed many resistance operations and was considered an advanced fort in the confrontation against occupation.

The mission of all of us is to maintain co-existence especially since our country is about coexistence and pluralism. We therefore must converge around this country's fundamentals the resistance at their forefront, reflecting everyone's hopes and conscience."

He concluded: "We confirm opening a new leaf, the Dahiyeh as well as other areas welcome such meetings and visits, our homes as well are open to visits by the Sheikhs."

For his part, Sheikh Zeineddine welcomed the delegation to the Shouf and the "Heart of the Mountain of coexistence, love and steadfastness," and said "We and you ought to maintain the glorious history we share; the Mountain will remain the safety valve through difficult times and will remain a shield for the resistance."

He added: "We applaud the political meetings at various levels and support them, as we do the courageousness and forthrightness of the leader Walid Jumblatt on the path of calm, reason and patience he pursued since the events (The events that followed the government decisions of 5 May to remove - the Ministerial Statement protected- resistance communication network) to date.

We also applaud his meeting (With Hizbullah Secretary-General) Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other officials. We also like to affirm our solidarity with the resistance against the enemy and anyone wanting to attempt evil deeds against Lebanon."
