Hizbullah delegation visits Druze of Bayyada & Jahliyeh

In this context, a delegation headed by Hizbullah's Shoura (Consultative) Council Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek and the party's southern region official Sheikh Nabil Qaouk visited Khalwaat al-Bayyada in Hasbayya where they met with the sheikhs of the area and from both Hasbayya and Rashayya-al-Wadi regions, among them: Ghaleb Qais, Suleiman Jamaleddine and Fandi Jamaleddine.

The gathering was also attended by the internal affairs representative of the PSP Shafiq Alawan and the Lebanese Democratic Party official for Hasbayya-Marjayoun District Mr. Shawqi Younis.

Sheikh Yazbek said: "As Monotheistic Druze on earth, your history in fighting occupation is evidently clear, our only choice is Islamic and national unity, the only option with which we can build the future."

MP Walid Jumblatt hailed those statements saying: "Rather than the slogan of 'Lebanon First' it is 'Arabism-Lebanon First', the harmonious Lebanon with its surroundings first, whose cause is to live side by side with that of the Palestinians', that is the decent and dear Lebanon we want...If Netanyahu talks about a 'Jewish' state without Arabs or Monotheists, he cannot do anything so long as we cooperate and collaborate together among ourselves, but he can do as he pleases should we become divided and scattered."

He said "The resettlement of Palestinian refugees squanders their rights and fragments the family; therefore the primary most important cause for all of us must be Palestine and to stand by the Palestinian people."

Sheikh Ghaleb Qais welcomed the delegation saying: "We need a new type of resistance, the kind that helps the self from its deviation away from hearing truth, from true religion towards vile designs, turning it to a captive of special interests. This is what sometimes brings differences of opinion in between brothers, citizens and members of the one sect or doctrine, scattering their ranks and dispersing their stands."

Sheikh Suleiman stressed on "The important role meetings between the religious leaders and between MP Walid Jumblatt and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (Hizbullah Secretary-General) play in reunification, preserving civil peace, unifying the positions and in building the nation."

Sheikh Hamad Bashir also gave a speech on behalf of Rashayya's sheikhs.

In the same context, a delegation of party religious scholars headed by Political Council member Sheikh Abdul Majid Ammar, visited the spiritual reference authority of the Monotheist Druze Sheikh Abu Ali Suleiman Abu-Diab in al-Jahliyeh. 

The delegation was received by the head of the Monotheistic Action Association President Sheikh Saleh Dao, as well as a large group of sheiks, clerics and influential figures of the town.

A statement issued by the Lebanese Tawhid (Unity) Movement said "Bahaa Abdul-Khaliq gave a welcome speech followed by Sheikh Ammar who passed on the greetings of the leadership in Hizbullah and the resistance, particularly those by His Eminence the Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah." 

He added: "We closely know this Mountain to which we are organically tied, through the one belonging and nationhood; this Mountain stood by the resistance when it was confronting the most powerful state-of-the-art military machinery possessed by the "Israeli" army, which wanted to divide the country and was confronted by an ever vigilant resistance. This Mountain played a major role in that confrontation."

Sheikh Abu Dhiab said: "There is no place for dispute in the existing relationship we share; recent events were but a passing cloud that ought to be completely forgotten. The resistance is a pressing need to preserve and defend the single house-the homeland."
