MP Mokdad: Opposition´s participation in the government must be real

In a statement Mokdad made, he said "The opposition, and on more than one occasion, gives the impression and responds to all questions regarding government formation, that it will help the PM-designate Saad Hariri in charge of forming the government in order for Lebanon to have a national unity government, in which all Lebanese factions participate, loyalists and opposition, on the basis that the opposition has effective and genuine representation."

MP Mokdad stressed that "the opposition did not ask for the impossible," he said, adding "When we - as a parliamentary minority - asked for serious and effective representation, we did not suggest one formula or one condition to the PM-designate, but there were several versions. What is required is for the opposition to enter this government and function in an effective manner to maintain the domestic political stability in the country."
