Hajj Hassan: the opposition is not an obstacle to forming a government after the agreement on its political framework
Source: Hizbollah Site Staff, 05-08-2009
Member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hussein Hajj Hassan said that: "The Lebanese opposition is not an obstacle to forming a government after agreement was reached on the political framework of the national unity government. Some wanted to suggest that there is disagreement within the opposition, and if so, what is yesterday's meeting between Speaker Nabih Berri and the Reform and Change bloc delegation an indication of?"
"There is no dispute within the opposition, there are views expressed by different opposition parties, in the end the opposition will have a united and integrated stand."
Hajj Hassan stressed for "The Government to be a partnership government and a partnership production, to address the diverse issues of Lebanese society and to defend Lebanon in the face of ‘Israeli' threats that are increasing day after day. The latest of these threats is the visit by 25 U.S. Congress members to the Zionist entity to stand with the Netanyahu government to confront pressure by the US Administration on settlements." He added "This step means the Judaization of the remainder of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the West Bank and the displacement of more Palestinians."
MP Hajj Hassan concluded saying: "Like other U.S. presidents, the American president Barak Obama is engaged in the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, through a soft approach and beautiful words. We Lebanese reject the settlement of Palestinians in Lebanon, not on racial basis, but on national, Islamic and patriotic basis, through our national unity and cohesion we can prevent the ‘Israeli' projects of sedition and resettlement."
