Sheikh Qassem rules out war, calls on Hariri to consolidate the partnership formula
Hizbollah Site Staff, 11-07-2009
Hizbullah Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed that the resistance is on high alert and in state of high preparedness to prevent any aggression "Israel" wages against Lebanon. In an exclusive interview with al-Manar TV as part of "Ayam Tammouz" (July 2006 war days) program series on the war days, His Eminence said Hizbullah is not interested in giving any information about the resistance's military capability, and said the enemy's threats go in two different directions, one internal for mobilization purposes and for raising morale, the second external, to draw the attention of those concerned that Hizbullah's growing capacity here a development "Israel" cannot bear.
His Eminence hoped the Prime minister-designate in charge of forming government accelerates its formation because the country needs to be governed, pointing out that likely obstacles can be solved, and with little movement and courage the government can be formed.
Sheikh Qassem said: "Statements we have been hearing by some of 'March 14' group, especially after Mr. Walid Jumblatt's change of camps, reveal new demands they did not have before, for example, some want to change the pattern within government formula to find their Cabinet share change from the previous formula, while others want a new formula which means going back to the zero point.
What is required of the PM-designate is to effectively say that there is already an agreed upon formula, from which the President of the Republic and the PM-designate had already started and began looking at allocation of portfolios and ministry selection phase, any going back to previous stages will be a waste time and I do not think a more optimal formula is available. Furthermore MP Jumblatt's change of political position does not alter the agreed upon formula."
