Fadlallah: Instigating the names issue disrupts government formation
Hizbollah Site Staff, 17-08-2009
At a ceremony in Kounine town on the anniversary of the victory and the town's martyrs' anniversary member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Dr. Hassan Fadlallah said "We have overcome the more difficult, which was to agree on the representational composition within the government."
He added:"The Portfolios and appointments are what remain now. There is a possibility to reach an understanding in this regard whereby each side has the right to consider itself of certain representational weight and therefore consider themselves better represented in Cabinet through this or that portfolio. This is neither a complicated matter nor too difficult to solve."
He believed "Instigating the problem of nominations for portfolios contributes to disrupting government formation. Those who create this issue bear responsibility for the disruption and any subsequent increased burdens on citizens... this instigated problem is unjustified."
He said: "Provided there is genuineness, government could be formed within one day giving rise to a new phase in the country whereby many crises can be addressed; many of the problems can be alleviated." He pointed out that "We have encouraged a climate of harmony, understanding, cooperation, reconciliation and genuine nationalistic speeches that are sensitive to dangers, ‘Israeli' dangers in particular."
