Fneish: Anyone asking Hizbullah to negotiate with Aoun is being crafty

The Minister of Labor in the Lebanese caretaker government Mohammad Fneish said to the Beirut based "As-Safir" Lebanese Newspaper that anyone asking Hizbullah to negotiate with General Michel Aoun regarding his ministerial demands is actually trying to be crafty with us, and ignores the fact that Hizbullah is not the sole party concerned with government formation but one of the participants in it. Negotiation with this or that side regarding formation is not one of Hizbullah's tasks. If we do that we will be accused by some of encroaching upon the authorities of the Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri.

Fneish added: Hizbullah cannot take Hariri's place who should take initiatives based on his constitutional responsibility to put forward alternatives if he is refusing Aoun's current demands, thus he allow for a solid ground to be reached upon which negotiations can take place. Hizbullah does not oppose giving assistance after that to overcome obstacles we find we can play a positive role in, to push matters forward.
