Fayyad: Approaching reform issues occurs within the framework of an all-inclusive national understanding

Commenting on the direction the consultations to form government took and the nature of the issues raised by the Prime Minister-designate with the parliamentary blocs, member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Dr. Ali Fayyad said: "It is important to emphasize the importance of these issues as they closely touch the deep causes of political instability in Lebanon."

Raising these issues and their discussion in the context of government formation but primarily emphasizes the need for a national unity government, because approaching structural and reform issues must be done within the framework of a national understanding and an all-inclusive national approach, not in the context of political divide or acute political polarizations.

Reform issues are similar to the electoral law and the formation of the National Commission for the Abolition of Political Sectarianism, expanded administration decentralization, reforming institutions and others, it must be addressed with all seriousness and deliberation, so that it can be included on the agenda of the national accord government. This calls for starting to form the government without its mortgaging with all that would only prolong or complicate the formation process, thus we would not be ill treating reform with hasty wrong approaches or the government formation with sluggish ones.
