Hizbullah's Sheikh Naim Qassem welcomed yesterday the Palestinian authority representative in Lebanon, Abbas Zaki , during a farewell meeting where the latest developments on both the Lebanese as well as Palestinian scene have been discussed.

Sheikh Qassem stressed on the importance of a quick resolution between Palestinian factions in order to face this critical stage. He added: "Israel" is escalating in its aggression, it is threatening Aqsa mosque, working on ending the Palestinian cause and there is no solution except internal Palestinian unity as well as resistance".

Furthermore, Sheikh Qassem said Hizbullah backs the Palestinian civil rights in Lebanon and it is possible to be provided separately from settling, reassuring that the settlement of Palestinians in Lebanon is a crime against them before being a crime against Lebanon and that the right to return is holy and irreplaceable .

He also said that the resistance can defeat "Israel" as it is manifested in what happened during July war 2006 which showed the patience of the Lebanese people and the persistent role of its national army, And "Israel's" defeat continues from the capturing of spying cells to the latest covering of espionage devices which exposed it to the whole world for violating UN resolution 1701.

On his part, Zaki stated that the meeting is a positive one which carries a depth in its discussed issues on more than one level, adding that it aims for bidding farewell to Sheikh Qassem on the occasion of the end of his mandate in Lebanon.

Zaki added "we discussed recent situations especially what is related to Al Quds, the Palestinian- Palestinian dialogue, the Egyptian paper and Goldstone report, describing that Hizbullah's stance was that of a strong will". He also said "when we discussed the miserable situation in the refugee camps, Sheikh Qassem expressed his willingness to be in the lead of those who want to find solutions for a decent living on the basis of protecting the right to return and opposing settlements".

He also said that there are a lot of issues which have been tackled for we share the same problems, expressing the importance of his memories which he carried from his stay in Lebanon and the influential role of Hizbullah.
