Raad: We now stand before a real opportunity for the formation of a national unity government

Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad expected the birth of the national unity government within hours or a few days indicating that "We now stand before a real opportunity to form the government." While noting that some stubbornly contend and refuse this formula, he pointed out that in the final end Lebanese public opinion was able to arrive at recognising the need for a national unity government after overcoming many obstacles.

During a memorial service in the Abbassiyeh (Abbasside) town, MP Raad saw that "The international support we hear the Zionist entity receiving and the condoning of its war crimes in Gaza, aims at turning the page over on the Goldstone report. Additionally, the ‘Israeli' attempts at preventing the discussion of the report through the instigation of incidents such as marine and non-marine piracy also show the extent of the western support the enemy receives and the functional role it is employed to play for Western countries of arrogance in order to implement their policies in our region."

Raad stressed "In our adherence to the resistance option vis-à-vis the Zionist possibilities of aggression against Lebanon, we are doing what fits the interests of our people, country and nation, noting that the resistance is proud to have been able-only within a few years after the July war-to rebuild its capabilities so as to force the enemy to think a million times before committing any new idiocy."

He also pointed out that "Because the enemy knows this, it is rallying international public opinion and powers with influence within the international bodies such as the Security Council, in order to encircle the resistance."
