Aoun: Resistance Arms Essential until Arab-“Israeli” Conflict Resolved

The head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun said on Thursday that resistance arms were essential until the Arab-"Israeli" conflict has been resolved.

During a TV interview, Aoun wondered whether those who do not want resistance weapons "like Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir and others" would take upon themselves the security of southern Lebanon.

The General stressed that Lebanon cannot rely on its army alone. "There would have been no need for armed forces had the regular army been able to carry out its duties," he said.

"Each person has to defend himself," he added, emphasizing that weapons should remain in the possession of the resistance "until the "Israeli" problem has been solved."
