MP Raad's speech came during an opening ceremony he sponsored for erecting a monument in the town of Humin al-Fowca in honor of the Islamic Resistance martyrs, held by the municipality in cooperation with Hizbullah and in the presence of the martyrs' families and influential political and social figures, and a large gathering of the locals.

MP Raad also said: "We are satisfied and express this satisfaction especially toward the current positive climates now beginning to accompany the process of restoring confidence between the political parties in this country. We hope this government produces some projects and provides for some of the citizens' much needed demands, following the long wait preceding this government's caesarian birth."

He added: "There is an opportunity at regional level as well, it permits the fortification of our country's conditions, particularly now that the enemy feels that in Lebanon exists a resistance that prevents it from exercising whatever follies it so desires, whenever it wants. The enemy knows in advance that any foolishness it contemplates could be extremely costly and has severe consequences beyond any of its anticipations. It is this deterrent that preserves the country and prevents attacks against it.

Since the resistance forms such a guarantee against aggression, we must preserve it and circumvent it with care both inside and outside the government. This is what we hope to see in the coming term of the government, with resistance as the sole guarantee.
