The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki began his agenda in Lebanon by a visit to martyr commander Hajj Imad Moghnieh's shrine in Rawdat al-Shahidain martyrs cemetery, accompanied by the former Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Shibani, an Iranian Shoura Council parliamentary delegation, the Chargé d'affaires in Lebanon Mir Massoud Hosseinian and the Iranian Cultural Advisor Mr. Mohamed Hussein Ra'is Zadah.

He was received at the gates of Rawdat al-Shahidain by both parents of the martyr Commander Moghnieh, heading a large delegation from Hizbullah made up of MP Hajj Ali Ammar, former MP Hajj Amin Cherri, head of the Ghobeiri Municipal Council Hajj Mohammad Said Khansa and Municipality Council members and a Hizbullah delegation from the Beirut area.

After placing a wreath of flowers at the tomb of the martyr Moghnieh, FM Mottaki said in a statement that his visit comes within the framework of the tireless efforts the Islamic Republic of Iran spent in standing by its Lebanese friends in consultation with the Lebanese leaders that led to consolidating security and stability in Lebanon during recent years, thus helping in the formation of a national unity government after the presidential and parliamentary elections were held.

The Iranian FM Manouchehr Mottaki emphasized that he came to Lebanon on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran's government and people to formally congratulate the people of Lebanon and the Lebanese officials for their proud accomplishment of the great national unity government, hoping this achievement forms the start of a good turn in accomplishments that serve the interests of Lebanon.

Mottaki praised the martyrs of the Islamic Resistance and its iconic leader Hajj Imad Moghnieh, taking his martyrdom as a representation of the peak in the Islamic Resistance Movement and a reflection of the extent of malice and hatred harbored by the enemies of Islam towards the peoples of the region.

FM Mottaki concluded saying that these martyrs are among the perpetually living; their lofty souls and stature will forever be a source of inspiration for the resistance of the great people of Lebanon and all the peoples resisting the enemies of Islam.
