Study: more “Israeli” youths are committing crimes

The study was publicized by the "Israel" National Council for the Child and presented to the "Israeli" President Shimon Peres. It looked at the increase in crime among "Israeli" youths.

According to the study, the number of youths suspected of committing crimes rose by 50% in recent years. Out of the suspected crimes, 72.5% were committed against victims outside of the family and 27.5% of cases were against other children within the family.

From 2005 to 2008, the number of criminal cases against children in "Israel" rose from 26 to 212, or more than 715%.

Since 1970, the number of "Israeli" youths has doubled: By the end of 2008, there were 2,453,140 children living in "Israel", or 33% of the population.
