MP Fayyad: Regional Peace Initiative engulfed by "Israeli" Occupation Settlement
In a meeting in Sidon city on Thursday, at the invitation of the Arts and Culture Society, member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Dr. Ali Fayyad said "The existing regional gamble on a peace settlement with 'Israel' is collapsing under the weight of Palestinian lands being swallowed up by 'Israeli' settlement."
He added saying "Lack of 'Israeli' willingness to reach a settlement, and the given continued decline in U.S. guarantees and promises to the Palestinians and Arabs, on the one hand reveals American weakness and bias to the 'Israelis' and shameful official Arab powerlessness on the other."
MP Fayyad said this should impel a comprehensive Arab reassessment, one primarily found on the resistance choice as a basis and on the unity in Arab ranks, while calling on the Arab world to take advantage of major regional shifts resulting from the roles Turkey and Iran play in the region.
Fayyad praised the Turkish position towards "Israel", saying "It is way forward than a great many official Arab positions", adding "There exists a lesson in there, that must be well read, because it contributed to exposing the impotence and futility of official Arab positions."
