“Israeli” Infantry Unit Briefly Occupies Lebanese Border Town of Aabbasiyyah, Detains and Releases Two Syrians

An “Israeli” infantry unit of approximately 20 soldiers carried out a dawn incursion from the vicinity of the border town of Al-Abbasiya. The soldiers searched several homes, both inhabited and abandoned, and interrogated a number of Lebanese residents and Syrian workers. Before withdrawing, the unit detained two Syrian laborers, who were later released near the border.
