Iran to Hold New 8-day Drill in Gulf

Iran's navy will begin from Wednesday an eight-day drill in the Gulf, a top commander announced, as the foreign ministry slammed Washington's possession of more than 5,000 nuclear warheads as "unjustified" and threatening global security

The exercises are to be held less than two weeks after Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards held four days of war games in the Gulf, Sea of Oman and the key oil route of Strait of Hormuz.

"The navy will perform the drill for eight days in the Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean covering an area of 250,000 square kilometers," naval commander Habibollah Sayari said according to Al Alam news agency on Tuesday.
