Russia Commits to Iran Commitments

Senior Russian senator says current agreements between Moscow and Tehran will not be affected by US efforts to impose new sanctions on Iran.
After Iran issued a fuel swap declaration with Turkey and Brazil, the US adapted a draft resolution on new sanctions on Iran at the UN.
According to some UN diplomats, the resolution agreed upon by the five permanent members of the UNSC, would prevent Russia from delivering missiles to Iran.
Head of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, Mikhail Margelov, said, "The draft resolution will not hit current contacts between Russia and Iran", adding that they need to remind that Russia is a responsible seller of its products on Foreign Markets.
Viktor Ozerov, a Russian senator, assured that Russia might veto the draft resolution in case it hurts its interests. Ozerov, who chairs the Federation Council's Defense Committee, said, "If the text of the resolution unilaterally impinges on Russia's interests, then as a permanent Security Council member, Russia will simply veto it".
The US and "Israel" have repeatedly been trying to impose a new round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
As veto-wielding, China and Russia refused to back sanctions, and insisted to maintain business relations with the Islamic Republic.
