""Israel" recently approached the United States with new requests for security-related purchases," "Israeli" newspaper Haaretz reported on Tuesday.

The requests included Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) bombs for the "Israeli" Air Force, as well as a significant expansion of the emergency arsenals held by the U.S. army in "Israel" by 50% - from $800 million to $1.2 billion, the paper explained.

"Israel" has increasingly used the JDAM bombs in its recent operations, including the 2006 war against Lebanon, and 2008 war against Gaza.

As for the American arsenals placed in occupied Palestine, they are worth $600 million, and hold rockets, bombs, aircraft ammunition and armored vehicles, along with other weapons.
Haaretz quoted senior military sources saying that the "Israeli" war forces attach great importance to these arsenals in case of an extensive conflict.

The move comes in U.S. efforts to increase military assistance to "Israel", and bring its military equipments closer to the areas it has conflicts.
