Hamas Warns of International Attempts to Enhance the Image of the Siege

Palestinian government spokesman in Gaza, Taher Al Nounou said that "There are some proposals that are working on beautifying the oppressive siege imposed on Gaza, for the aim of removing Hamas off the political equation."

In a statement Al Nounou delivered, he added that the latest American proposals to lift the siege is only a new attempt to impose preconditions on the Palestinian people to give up on their rights and national stands.

Diplomatic sources in Washington have previously revealed that the Obama administration is drawing a strategic plan regarding Gaza that also includes spreading UN forces and ceasing fire between Hamas and "Israel".

According to the same sources, the plan includes security elements belonging to the Palestinian authority, which controls the borders and the trade in the strip, especially with the Rafah crossing.

The sources indicated that this plan is close to the strategic American plan applied in occupied Palestine, which was labeled as "oil in exchange of food".

Meanwhile, head of the national initiative, MP Moustafa Bargouthi said, "We do not ask for reducing the intensity of the siege, we ask for ending it, through pressuring on Washington".
