The Zionist entity's industry, trade and labor minister Benjamin Ben Eliezer called on "Israel" to abstain from blocking ships heading to Gaza and to consider new ways to prevent arms delivered into the strip.

During a ‘cultural' event, Ben Eliezer said he would rather submit to transporting arms into Gaza over engaging "Israel" in crimes of restraining civil ships in international waters.

The Zionist official criticized the decision makers on the flotilla raid, saying, "There were errors, even critical ones, and the operation was not presented before the Security Cabinet, which did not ask the necessary questions."

"If there had been a cabinet debate, things would have turned out differently," he added.
Suggesting ways of avoiding deadly outcomes in the future, the minister said, "The way in which ships should be stopped should weigh different considerations while limiting as much as possible contact between soldiers and the vessels."

"Regarding the last flotilla, the gap between nine casualties and 190 casualties was very small, only coincidence stopped the number from increasing," he indicated.

Referring to the situation in Gaza, Ben Eliezer said, "We are the ones under siege. What Hamas holds in Gaza now is three times what they had on the eve of Operation Cast Lead."

Ben Eliezer also commented on the political process and said he does not rule out the possibility of quitting the government, saying, "If we don't enter a political process, we will be the ones isolated, not Gaza."

"We only aim at preventing arm smuggling into the strip, and we know the world supports us on this. We need to reach an equation with a friendly state like France or Italy, to be in charge of examining the ships heading to the Strip," he concluded.
