Iranian Ambassador to Spain Discusses Expanding Bilateral Relations
Local Editor
Iran's new ambassador to Spain, Morteza Saffari, met on Monday with Spanish King Carlos, presenting the Iranian official stance regarding friendship with the Spanish king and people. IRNA reported.
Saffari also revealed Tehran's readiness for developing and expanding relations with Madrid in various fields and aspects.
During the meeting, the Spanish king Carlos showed great interest in expanding bilateral relations with Iran in all possible fields, wishing that the Iranian envoy to perform his mission.
As Ambassador Morteza Saffari was assigned to position, the traditional credential presentation was scheduled for May 25, but the Spanish king was hospitalized with lung disease, leading to almost a two-month of delay in the ceremony.
It seems that the Spanish stance has becoming more supportive to the Iranian and Middle East issues, especially after its recent talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad, and expected cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
