Iran Condemns EU Sanctions, Ready for Unconditional Talks
Local Editor
Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, Ramin Mehmanparast denounced the European Union's decision in imposing new sanctions against the country.
According to ISNA news agency, Mehmanparast said, "The Sanctions would neither help resumption of negotiations nor change the will of the Iranian nation to pursue its legitimate nuclear rights", referring that the EU imposed sanctions were the result of the US pressure.
"Iran considers the latest EU move as another step towards enmity with the Iranian nation which will not only increase distrust but also have negative consequences for the initiators of these sanctions", Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said.
In this context, EU Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton welcomed a proposal by Iran that negotiations would be resumed over the nuclear fuel swap, especially after the EU imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
