Sarkozy Replies to Saudi Request: STL Indictment Up to US
Local Editor
According to As-Safir newspaper, Saudi Arabian King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz sent Head of Saudi Intelligence Prince Al Maqran Bin Abdul Aziz to Paris, where the latter met with French President Nicola Sarkozy.
The Saudi Head of Intelligence handed to Sarkozy a royal Saudi letter, in which the King urged France to use all its powers in order to find a loophole out of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) indictment on Lebanon.
On his part, French President replied to the request, saying that France cannot do anything concerning the indictment, clarifying that it is up to the US, were sources reveal that a Saudi delegation was sent to the US for the same request.
