Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister: "Israel’s" Aggressions Threaten Regional, International Security
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mokdad considered that "Israel's" occupation of the Syrian Golan and other parts in Lebanon exposes security, peace of the region and the world to dangers.
In a statement he delivered during a ministerial meeting held in New York by the non-alignment movement, Mokdad assured, ""Israel" is the one that threatened security, peace, and stability in the region and the world with its aggression against Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and lately against the Freedom Flotilla in international waters."
Mokdad condemned "Israel's" continuous renunciation of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights to return and establish an independent state with its capital Al Quds (Jerusalem).
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister said, "If the International community wanted to make the world more secure and stable, it is required to clear the Middle East from Nuclear weapons, as "Israel" still refuses to join the Non-proliferation treaty and to put its nuclear facilities under the International Atomic Energy Agency's supervision.
In conclusion, Mokdad emphasized the importance of proceeding in the movement's joint work, by reforming the UN team, specifically the international community; strengthening the General Assembly's role; fighting all kinds of blockades and sanctions imposed by the developed countries; and supporting the developing process in Africa specifically.
