“Israeli” Forces Blocks Soldiers’ Social Media Access
Local Editor
The "Israel" Occupation Forces decided to bar soldiers from using social websites like Facebook and Twitter as well as Gmail, reported the Ynetnews.
Head of "Israel's" Intelligence Corps information security, Gadi Abudi, claimed this aims at preventing sensitive information from reaching "Israel's" enemies.
The Website quoted Abudi as saying that the ban applies only when troops are on base, where their online habits could put military computers at risk. Mobile phone use will also be restricted.
This step comes after "Israeli" soldiers put photos of themselves on Facebook posing next to bound and blindfolded Palestinians, as well as photos and videos exposing other insulting actions.
