Bulldozer Driver Testifies over Rachel Corrie’s Death in “Israeli” Trial
Local Editor
Long after waiting, the "Israeli" court scheduled a time for a trial over the death of US activist, Rachel Corrie.
The trial took place in presence of the victim's family members, in addition to the bulldozer driver, who went over Rachel and caused her death.
On his part, the bulldozer driver insisted throughout the trial that he hadn't seen the US activist before running her over, and testified that he could barely remember anything concerning the incident.
The Russian-born bulldozer driver, referred to as YB, was not allowed to be seen but by the lawyers and the judge, since as a former reservist, his career and status in the "Israeli" entity could be as stake.
YB said, "I didn't see her before the incident, I saw people pulling the body from the earth."
The Corrie family was allowed to listen to all what the former reservist had to say, yet were not allowed to see him.
Cindy Corrie, Rachel's mother, said, "I do feel that state of "Israel" is saying that Craig, Sarah and I are security risks," in reference to her Rachel's father and sister, adding, "I am affronted by this. I wanted to see the whole person, not just hear the words".
Cindy Corrie added, "They don't want him to have to look at us," adding, "That's the point, isn't it? The state is protecting soldiers from having to come face to face with the acts they committed and the people they've impacted. Israel is hiding behind that screen."
