Turkey Decides on “Israel” as a Major Threat
Local Editor
After the "Israeli" attack on Freedom Flotilla on the 31st of last May, Turkey has adopted a new "secret law" or the "red book" which is considered to be the most important official document in setting up the major internal and foreign Turkish strategies for the next five years.
According to Al-Akhbar newspaper, many articles were added to the law, where the major article is a category describing "Israel" as a "major threat to Turkey".
In this context, in the unit special for "foreign threats on Turkey and its foreign affairs", lays a statement that says that lack of stability in the region caused by the "Israeli" activities and its policies, which could lead to a race of armament in the region, represent a threat on Turkey.
Turkish newspapers commented that this is the first time in the history of Turkish-"Israeli" relations that "Israel" is called as a major threat to Turkey's foreign affairs.
These new articles apparently were not triggered because of the Mavi-Marmara incident, but because of "Israel's" policies in jeopardizing stability in the Middle East.
On the same level, as "Israel" became a threat to it, Turkey removed each of Syrian, Iran, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, and partially Greece, from the list of threatening countries.
This Turkish attempt is a high leveled strategic transformation, which will surely have regional repercussion.
