Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov called upon the power countries to discuss the possibility of lessening the sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program.

Lavrov proposed this to occur in the upcoming talks to be held between the power counties and Iran on Friday in Istanbul, over its nuclear program.

In a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Ahmad Davutoglu, the Russian Foreign Minister said that if there were any possibility to agree on any future talks, then lessening the sanctions on Iran would be a good result.

Sergey Lavrov said that the mechanism to be followed by Russia and other states taking part in the talks, will be involved in the Iranian nuclear program and solving problems related to it.

Lavrov added that talks will also discuss other issues, like canceling economic sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic.

On his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu referred to Iran's right in purchasing a peaceful nuclear program, saying "We are against nuclear weapons, but we believe that all countries have the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy".
