Iranian FM Met Muallem, Palestinian Resistance Leaderships and Meets Assad on Monday

Iran's acting foreign minister, Ali Akbar Salehi is scheduled to meet Syrian President Bashar Al Assad on Monday.

Salehi arrived in Damascus on Sunday for talks with Syrian officials on the political crisis in Lebanon, a diplomatic source said. He met with his Syrian counterpart Walid Al Muallem.
According to an official Syrian statement, the two discussed "the special bilateral relations between Syria and Iran, as well as the expansion their horizons. The FMs also reviewed the development of relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of coordination of stances and future vision in such a way that serves the interests of both peoples."
The statement assured that both countries share the same perspective on the regional and international issues. 

Moreover, Palestinian sources told Al Intiqad that Salehi held meetings and discussions with leaderships of the Palestinian resistance factions residing in Syria.
The Palestinian faction leaderships praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to Arab causes topped by the Palestinian cause, further stressing that Iran has the right to use peaceful nuclear technology.

On his part, Salehi underscored the important sacrifices of the Palestinian people they have been presenting for the sake of retrieving their usurped rights, asserting it is very important that the Arab and Islamic worlds join their efforts together in order to break the Zionist siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. Last but not least, Salehi assured Iran's support to the Palestinian resistance in face of all aggressions and occupation.
