In response to the Egyptian people's rage as they stormed the streets to protest their country's regime, Egyptian President Husni Mubarak delivered a speech Friday Midnight, in which he demanded the Egyptian Prime Minister to resign the government and form a new government starting today, Saturday.

"The path of reform which we have chosen is irreversible and cannot go backward. We will proceed with new steps that affirm our respect for the independence of the judiciary ... new steps towards more democracy and freedoms," Mubarak said, adding "I carry the foremost responsibility in protecting the security of the nation and the people, and I have always been adamant to the people's right of practicing freedom of speech and expression as long as it is within a legitimate and just frame."

Mubarak declared that new measures will be applied to "fight unemployment, ameliorate living standards, and develop services as well as support the poor who suffer very low wages.

Mubarak, regretting over the loss of innocent lives during the protests that have rocked Egypt, said he understood the protesters' grievances but a thin line divided liberty from chaos and he would not allow Egypt to be destabilized.

Tens of thousands have held demonstrations in Cairo, Suez, Alexandria, and other cities and continue to demand an end to Mubarak's decades-long rule.

Meanwhile, dozens of tanks have entered Cairo's Tahrir Square and pointed their guns at protesters.
