Iranian Speaker Warns US from Interfering in Regional Uprisings Inspired by Iranian Revolution

Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani stressed that the Iranian revolution has served as a role model for the people of the region, regarding their uprisings against their dictator regimes.

According to Fars news agency, Larijani said, "Today we see that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has had considerable influence on the uprisings and awakening of people in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Yemen".

"The current movement in the region is due to the model set forth by the Islamic Revolution", he added.

Regarding the US rather interfering reaction concerning the recent regional events, Iranian Speaker referred that what now represents worry to the US is if the regional developments lead to a similar fate to that of Iran 32 years ago.

In this context, Larijani reaffirmed Iran's support to the current regional popular uprisings, further warning the US from any interference, and any scheming to undermine the revolutions.

Larijani stressed, "We explicitly support the uprisings of the Islamic nations", adding that the US should know that the region cannot tolerate with its "wicked behavior", therefore will take a stance against it [the US].
