Al Intiqad: Muallem to Tehran on Thursday Following Saudi King Letter to Syria on Situation in Bahrain
Al Intiqad, Damascus
Syria's Foreign Minister Walid Muallem will be visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursay, according to Al Intiqad online newspaper. During his visit, he will meet with his Iranina counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi and a number of Iranian officials.
Sources reported that Muallem will discuss the situation in the region, particularly in Bahrain as foreign troops (Saudi and Emirati majorly) entered the country to clamp down on the peaceful protestors, which was rejected by Iran.
Sources anticipated that the two counterparts would also discuss the situation in Libya and the call for foreign intervention as well as the No-fly Zone which both, Syria and Iran strongly object.
The visit comes following a letter the Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Azizi sent to Syrian President Bashar Al Assad concerning the "bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries [Syria and KSA], as well as concerning the regional situation including Bahrain."
