Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that "Tehran" considers any political measures that lead to meddling in Lebanon's internal affairs as falling in "Israel's" best interest.

"Interfering in Lebanon's internal affairs, creating sedition and shaking its unity achieve the "Israeli" interest in the region," the spokesman said.
Clarifying that "all the parties, people and the Lebanese government expressed their stances towards the indictment in the 2005 assassination of ex-Prime Minister Rafik Hariri," Mehmanparast stressed that the timing of the indictment's release in conjunction with the formation of the Lebanese government and the issuance of the policy statement aims at affecting the government's work."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said "the parties that are supporting the tribunal for political reasons are targeting the Lebanese unity, and they don't want the cabinet to carry out its tasks peacefully."
