An Egyptian protester pulled down the Israeli flag on Friday at the "Israeli" embassy in Cairo, the second time in less than a month.

The protester climbed the building, where the "Israeli" embassy occupies the top floor, and took down the flag, witnesses said. Last month, another protester was hailed as a hero when he replaced the "Israeli" flag with an Egyptian one.
On Friday, the "Israeli" flag was taken down after hundreds of protesters gathered to break down a concrete wall meant to protect the building. Protesters used large wooden poles and hammers to knock down the wall.

Security forces erected the wall earlier this month, after thousands of angry Egyptians protested for more than a week outside the embassy, demanding that Egypt's military rulers expel the "Israeli" ambassador.

Earlier, Pro-Palestinian activists turned the 100 meters long and three meters high wall surrounding "Israel's" embassy in Cairo into a site of creative protest. The wall replaced an iron fence smashed by protesters last month. The military junta claimed that it was set up to protect public property and not the embassy in particular.

Activists sprayed the wall with pro-Palestine, anti-SCAF and anti-Zionist messages such as "No to reconciliation", "We will not forget Deir Yassin", "No to "Israel"", "Bethlehem," and finally "the Liberation of Palestine starts with the liberation of Egypt", amid shouts of encouragement by passers-by.
