Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati congratulated on Tuesday the Lebanese people and the government for the achievement of launching Litani Project, in an agreement signed between Lebanon and the Kuwaiti fund.

Mikati praised Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri for the great role he has played in this regard, and further thanked Kuwait for supporting this project.
Moreover, Mikati stressed that protecting this accomplishment would only be reached through immunizing stability, without which Lebanon would not have immunity to face its challenges.

"Lebanon succeeded in overcoming the previous stage thanks to the efforts exerted in the past period of time", Lebanon's PM stated, clarifying that the aim from this project is to provide South Lebanon with the Litani River waters for land irrigation and drinking, with the help of the Arab and Kuwaiti funds.
Also, he noted that this project is merely one of the factors that would encourage the southerners to stay in their lands.

On his part, Lebanese Speaker Berri thanked the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Kuwaiti Fund, and the Reconstruction and Development Council, and all those who contributed to this national project.
He stressed that this accomplishment represents one of Lebanon's victorious phases against the "Israeli" enemy.
