A new "political-security" dilemma has approached Lebanon, this time indicating that the "fingerprint data" of more than 4 million Lebanese people are apparently purchased by a private French company, which happens to be partners with an "Israeli" military association.

On this level, Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel confirmed that the fingerprint data are a property of the Interior Ministry, however, that does not exclude the possibility of having them possessed by the "Israeli" enemy.

In an interview with as-Safir newspaper, Minister Charbel stated that suitable measures will be done in order to clear the image in this regard, especially that the partnership between the French [Sagine] and "Israeli" companies has just been revealed.
He stressed that the issue will be discussed in the cabinet, and will be tackled out of concern towards the higher national interest.
