The US president is chuckling in fiendish delight as the fruits of his recent visit to the Middle East seem to ripen in the dark and damp wintry nights of Gaza, where food, medicine and other basic necessities are fast running out following five days of siege by the illegal Zionist entity.
The devilish designs of George W. Bush and his buddies in the West do not come as a surprise, neither to Gaza's 1.5 million besieged Palestinians nor to the Muslim world.
However, what is surprising is the lackadaisical attitude of certain Arab states, especially Egypt, which is reluctant to reopen the Rafah passage that could still avert the unfolding catastrophe.
As we go to the press, the Arab League emergency meeting on the fast deteriorating situation in Gaza is underway in Cairo.
We earnestly hope it would come up with a practical proposal that would allow the Egyptian government to dismantle the barriers blocking movement between Gaza and Sinai in order to facilitate rushing of much needed relief from the Muslim world to the besieged Palestinians.
Hollow statements of denunciations of the Zionist crimes or the vain appeals to the West to help lift the blockade in exchange for Palestinian self-dignity, are of no use.
Egypt, the leading member of the Arab League ought to understand that any further hesitancy on its part would only embolden the usurper regime of "Israel" to blackmail other Arab countries and impose more humiliating conditions upon them.
As the Hamas leadership has warned, every single Palestinian death in Gaza resulting from the Zionist blockade and the unabated military attacks will sit heavily on the head of not only all Arab governments but also on that of other Muslim states idly watching the worsening crisis.
It is the time for action and not words. Every single moment matters. The Muslim world should be afraid of God and be afraid of the consequences of Judgment Day instead of unnecessarily fearing possible acts of Zionist regime terrorism against them or the supposed might of the US.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has called for an urgent convening of a foreign ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to discuss ways of relieving the Gazans.
Such a meeting should not restrict itself to relief measures, but should explore other possibilities as well, including means of providing defensive aid for the Palestinian defenders exposed to daily Zionist attacks.
There are various options the ummah could mobilize to make the US and the West understand that through such inhuman measures they can neither force the Palestinians to desert the popularly elected government of the Islamic Resistance Movement nor prolong the illegal existence of "Israel" on the map of the Middle East.
It is now crystal clear for the Arabs what goals the US president pursued by visiting the region.
It is still not late. Insha Allah (God Willing), the awakening of Islamic conscience will soon make the fiendish Bush rue his devilish intentions including his satanic chuckle as Gaza descends into human catastrophe.
