Is the blatant harmony between the positions of the "Israeli" leaders, US Ambassador to Lebanon and the February 14 bloc for real or is it coincidence that never seizes to happen?
Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah spoke about body parts of "Israeli" soldiers in the hands of the Islamic Resistance. Tel Aviv was in total chaos, its army chief rabbi had to admit burying soldiers with missing parts and that was it.
This was enough to give life back to stalled indirect negotiations over a swap deal between "Israel" and Lebanon.
YET IN LEBANON THERE ALWAYS A 'BUT'
MP Walid Jumblatt honored US Ambassador to Lebanon Jeffery Feltman who will leave his post soon. "Goodbye my dear friend Jeff," Jumblatt wished his guest. Seizing the moment, Feltman lashed out at Sayyed Nasrallah over his latest Ashoura speech and used the terms 'disgusting' and 'gross', but were these really his own terms? The "Israelis" used the same words (Yediot Aharonot) only they added to them an open call to kill Sayyed Nasrallah who is after all a Lebanese citizen and religious and political leader. Until now, everything looks normal, or to be more specific, déjà vu.
HOW DID THE TURMOIL FIND ITS WAY TO LEBANON?
Former "Israeli" National Security chief Giora Eiland told "Israeli" television that "what we are doing here ("Israel") or what the UNIFIL is doing (in Lebanon) does not undermine Nasrallah's power. The internal conflict (in Lebanon) can do this. It is why we have to preoccupy him (Sayyed Nasrallah) with internal matters." "Let's move to the Lebanese arena where (former Lebanese President) Amine Gemayel bravely challenged (Sayyed) Hasan Nasrallah," an "Israeli" Channel 10 anchor said. "Israeli" specialist in Arab affairs, Odid Granot said that an "important voice has risen in Lebanon. It is that of former president Amine Gemayel who had previous ties with "Israel". He criticized Nasrallah over his last speech. It is important that such comments are made by people like Gemayel, not only by "Israelis"." Gemayel took the stand Monday and expressed 'disgust' of Sayyed Nasrallah's words about "Israeli" soldiers' body parts. Gemayel also accused Sayyed Nasrallah of presenting himself as a negotiator with "Israel". But it was not the first time that Hizbullah exchanges, through indirect negotiations, bodies and body parts of "Israeli" soldiers with Lebanese prisoners in "Israeli" jails. In the late 1990's, Hizbullah returned a significant number of Lebanese prisoners and martyrs by exchanging "Israeli" soldiers' body parts gathered from the foiled commando operation in Ansariyeh in the 1990's.
WHAT'S SO DIFFERENT THIS TIME?
Assafir daily quoted sources close to the ruling majority as saying that Gemayel was commissioned by the February 14 bloc and the Americans to make such comments. Hizbullah retorted saying that in his human-centered speech, Gemayel did not show the same zeal for sympathy with the Palestinians in Gaza nor did he express 'disgust' at what he and the "Israelis" committed in Sabra and Shatila refugee camps 25 years ago.
GEAGEA'S STORY IS TOTALLY AMAZING
Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea's story was not different than Gemayel's, but more amazing. For Geagea, it was a choice between 'the line of heads and legs' and 'the line of humanity and civilization!" The 'Hakim' (Arabic for doctor) who chose to wear a military uniform and become a warlord during the civil war stunned the Lebanese, especially the family members of those whom he handed over to the "Israelis". If picking up body-part of an invading army and preserving them for a humane cause was indecent then what is? When someone's mind is insulted to this extent, recalling facts becomes a must. To begin with, Geagea was condemned to death for assassinating late Prime Minister Rashid Karameh in the late 80's. He was politically pardoned when the coup against the law and institutions began in 2005. Perhaps the condemned Geagea, who sympathized with the body-parts of "Israeli" soldiers, prefers riddled bodies in pajamas, as he personally did with Tony Franjieh, his wife and their blue-eyed daughter Vera; she was 4. They were the family of current opposition figure Suleiman Franjieh. Or maybe he would find it more decent to use silencers and knives to kill people like Dany Shamoun, his wife and their two children. What if Geagea finds it more decent to order the bodies of Lebanese Army soldiers, civilians and diplomats be set on fire, thrown in his deep "Karantina Headquarters'" well or drowned in the 'fifth basin' in Beirut's port, which is still a witness on the criminal deeds.
NEW BOOK REVEALS WHAT WINOGRAD CONCEALS
Feltman, Gemayel and Geagea's sonata coincided with a grave revelation about the collusion of the Lebanese ruling bloc in the 2006 "Israeli" war against Lebanon.
"Not did Olmert gain support from the United States, France and Britain during the July war of 2006, but from Arab countries as well, like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. He also had the support of people who are close to the Lebanese government. They had sent letters to Tel Aviv via different channels demanding "Israel" continues the war until Hizbullah was crushed," said Avi Issacharoff, the author of "Spider Webs, The Story of the Second Lebanon War" that was published a couple of weeks ago.
