Sayyed Safieddine: What political gain comes from boycotting the summit?
Source: Al Manar TV, 28-03-2008
Hizbullah's head of the of the executive council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine stressed the looser will be the one who will not take part in the summit. His eminence questioned the political advantage that Saniora's ruling bloc gained from boycotting the Damascus summit. "Nobody really believes that the decision taken by the ruling bloc was significant. No one is in fact convinced of the feasibility of such decision. It is true that this decision would have a negative impact on this authority. You (ruling bloc) are the ones loosing not the summit; whether you attend or not, nothing will really change. In fact, the decision to boycott the summit was a fulfillment of the US desire. Rancor and spite do not build countries and policies. These political flaws only reflect the image of an immature ruling bloc and the lack of a real and clear vision," Sayyed Safieddine said.
