Iran will not abide to "West Jungle Law"
Source: alalam.ir, 09-05-2008
TEHRAN-Provisional Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani
emphasized Friday Iran will not yield to any type of oppression, or double-standard regarding its absolute nuclear rights, slamming the 'Western law of the jungle' approach towards Third World countries' scientific gains.
Expediency Council Chairman, who was addressing thousands of worshipers at central campus of Tehran University, said in his second sermon, "It seems as though they are not going to abandon taking advantage of the remote probability of Iran's access to nuclear weapons, in order to deprive us of our natural and absolute right to master the nuclear sciences."
He said, "Iran will by no means yield to such double-standards and oppression."
"This is typically an oppression they exert in dealing with the scientific works conducted in the Third World countries. But who has entitled them the right to monopolize most advanced technologies, such as the nuclear technology?"
Rafsanjani said, "What is the logic behind this historic oppression? Is it merely because they enjoy the veto right at the UN Security Council that they entitle themselves such irrational rights? Is this not the jungle law? Do they also call themselves civilized nations?"
"It is easy to prove that the majority of the problems in the world today are due to the West's resorting to the logic of military power," he added.
He said, "If we wish to choose the right path, we need to abandon the logic of power and to end oppression. We need to enter talks with the other sides from equal stands."
Referring to the 60th anniversary of the end of the World War II, he also added "The WWII should have been a good lesson for the mankind. Let us not forget that individuals such as Adolf Hitler led the world towards the devastating war that claimed the lives of at least 40 million human beings and left countless disabled."
