"Israeli" jets violate Lebanese air space

'Israeli' jets on Sunday flew over southern Lebanon in violation of the country's airspace, a security official told AFP.
"More than four 'Israeli' jets began overflying most of the southern part of the country at 0630 GMT," the official said.
The flights came amid continuing tension in Lebanon, after deadly clashes between supporters of the government and Hizbullah.
'Israeli' jets regularly overfly Lebanon, violating UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which brought an end to the 34-day war between 'Israel' and the Hizbullah group in August 2006.
The United Nations has called on 'Israel' to stop violating Lebanese airspace. It says the over flights undermine the credibility of UN peacekeepers stationed in southern Lebanon and compromise efforts to stabilize the region.
