"Israel" Gaza Raid Martyrs Palestinian Boy
Source: Alalam.ir, 20-05-2008
GAZA CITY- A 13-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and another person injured in fresh 'Israeli' airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip, emergency medical services said.
Muawiya Hassanein, the head of Gaza emergency services, confirmed a boy aged 13 was killed and another person was injured.
The occupying regime's army claimed the air raid targeted Palestinian activists who had fired rockets at the occupied city of Sderot.
'Israeli' forces conduct almost daily raids in Gaza and impose a blockade on the Palestinian territory in an attempt to stop the firing of rockets and mortars at southern Occupied Palestine.
Three rockets were fired by Gaza activists at southern 'Israel' on Tuesday without causing any casualties, military officials said.
Over the past few weeks, the Zionist regime and Hamas have been holding separate talks with Egypt, which is acting as a go-between, about a possible truce in Gaza.
Zionist war minister Ehud Barak warned Monday after talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak that 'Israel' could stage a major ground offensive against Gaza.
Barak reiterated 'Israel's' demand "to accelerate and advance the talks for the release of captured soldier Gilad Shalit as part of any attempt to normalize the situation on the ground."
Shalit has been held by Gaza activists for almost two years since his capture in a courageous cross-border raid from the territory.
Barak also held talks in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh with Egypt's pointman for Palestinian affairs -- intelligence chief Omar Suleiman.
Suleiman has been acting as go-between in the negotiations between 'Israel' and Palestinian resistance fighters.
In exchange for stopping the rocket fire, Hamas has said it wants the occupying regime to lift its nearly year-old blockade of Gaza and allow the reopening of its borders.
