Five Palestinians were martyred during an 'Israeli' occupation military incursion in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday, medical officials in the besieged territory said.
The five were martyred in an air strike called in support of 'Israeli' ground operations near the city of Rafah, said members of the Palestinian emergency services. Two of those martyrs were Palestinian resistance fighters who had been involved in an exchange of fire with 'Israeli' occupation troops some 1.5 kilometers inside the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, an occupation soldier was wounded during exchanges of fire with resistance fighters in south Gaza in the morning. The soldier was injured when an anti-tank missile was fired at the vehicle he was traveling in during his unit's activity against resistance infrastructure in the Strip. The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing, claimed responsibility for the missile attack.
