Aoun΄s office: Why people criticizing Aoun were still silent about 171 soldiers killed at Nahr al-Bared battles
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 4-9-2008
The public relations office of the Change and Reform bloc issued a press release on Thursday responding to criticism leveled against the bloc's leader, MP Michel Aoun, for comments regarding last week's helicopter incident.
The press release said that the critics have lost both their objectivity and their nerves, and were resorting to instigating conflict and hiding the truth.
The statement wondered whether the truth is revealed in any crime when the accusers are in power.
The statement also asked what was wrong with describing the helicopter incident within a legal and military framework, and questioned why the people criticizing Aoun were still silent about last year's battle at Nahr al-Bared, in which 171 soldiers were killed along with other civilians, and the Tripoli bombing last month that killed 10 soldiers.
