Fneish: Meeting...marks the beginning of a new era
Source: Al-Manar TV, 15-09-2008
Minister Fneish spoke to reporters following the meeting between PSP and Hizbullah, declaring that it "marks the beginning of a new era and aims to facilitate the dialogue atmosphere."
"This meeting aimed to express our loyalty to the memory of Sheikh Saleh Aridi, who carried out an important role in reaching reconciliation in Mount Lebanon, and preserving unity among the residents," Fneish said, reading in the meeting "a response to those who were behind Aridi's assassination."
Fneish renewed Hizbullah openness to all political parties, expressing hope that we will achieve national reconciliation and pave the way toward further communication.
"There will be further meetings, but this does not mean that we reached agreement on all controversial issues," he noted, saying at the same time that normal relations would be regained.
